Description
surf shops on the East Coast. Bunger Surf Shop was founded in 1962 by Long Island’s Charlie Bunger Sr., who was inspired to try shaping surfboards in his basement after watching surfers at Gilgo Beach. Today, it’s a thriving family business with Charlie Sr.’s son Tommy shaping all of the boards while Charlie Jr. and sister, Theresa, run the shop. (Their mother, who’s now 82, does much of the paperwork.) The Bungers are proud to serve the surfing community, maintaining their legacy of quality craftsmanship. We’ve updated the classic board short with a modern slim fit, while keeping its old-school drawstring waist and adding a mesh lining to keep you comfortable in the water (and when you’re lounging poolside or on the beach). Our lightweight stretch swimsuits are crafted from 57 percent ECONYL® yarn, a 100 percent regenerated fiber spun from nylon waste including discarded fishing nets. It features a water-repellent finish made without fluorocarbons or PFCs. It also has UPF 50 protection, so this already-hardworking fabric protects you from 98 percent of the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays.
